Locally known as Pulau Pinang (Betelnut Island), the northern gateway to Malaysia offers the chance to discover a uniquely cosmopolitan community. Also known as ‘Pearl of the Orient’, the island is a tropical paradise of swaying palm trees and sandy beaches with clear blue water and friendly people.

Georgetown, the capital, is a marvellous jumble of colonial buildings, temples, churches, restaurants and shops.

The island is accessible from the mainland by a spectacular bridge which is the longest in Southeast Asia and the third longest in the world. One can also take the slower but pleasant ferry which plies the channel.

Golf vacation is just as charming as the island itself. You may consider the 18-hole Bukit Jambul Golf and Country Club. There is also another 18-hole course at the Penang Turf Club Golf section, while the Air Force Golf club on the mainland offers a nine-hole layout.
